June and July are rose months here. Roses start flowering in May but in June they are not only many but also affordable and all grown in the gardens, not the green houses. With many nice parties around in June and July, I have lots of excuses to buy bunches and bouquets, for others and for myself. The bright ones here were bought for a birthday this week. And the deep red bellow were bought earlier in June.

Sometimes I take the time and taka a picture or too of the roses. I love the genuine look the garden June and July roses have. Only a late autumn rose can compete with them…

What you cannot feel is the smell… The dark red velvet roses scent is deep and strong, the lighter colours – not so strong but still adorable and refreshing.

It is my birthday today!
It was a fantastic day, almost normal, and quite magic… It started with a dentist visit…. but it was a good one. Then I went to my mother to give her a bouquet of roses and she bought me the most gorgeous orchid I have seen. Well, there are some that are more beautiful I suppose… But it is pale yellow with purple…and it is huge.. with even huger roots…
I baked self saucing pudding and served it with cream… Knitted in the evening. And bought myself some yarn today!
The roses are form last year. The new ones were not documented. LOL . I am trying not to take pictures if everything around… sometimes… I can stand it.

greenIt is still spring and it was quite cold /sometimes only 10C/ here in April, but the beginning of May was the beginning of the real spring this year. And it was a warm, glorious spring… and a short one. It was over a week ago.

I had to rearrange clothes and start wear short sleeves or no sleeves at all. The sea makes autumns here very long and really magic – gold on the trees and warm, warm weather – sometimes short sleeves in early November…

We pay for these long beautiful autumns with short – 5-10- days-long springs. It rarely takes more than a couple of weeks from wearing wool sweater to choosing sleeveless top for a walk.

It is one of my favorite periods of the year now and I enjoy it – all these flowers everywhere – poppies, variety of wild flowers, roses, flowering trees, the greenest gardens you can see, round white clouds and deep blue sky, summer clothes…  but no summer temperatures – it is still 25-30C. The chestnut trees are all covered with flowers too.

One of my dearests friends sent me these great pictures of the most amazing carpet you could think of. It is made of Begonia flowers! The bloom of 700 000 begonias! Thank you for sending, my dear friend!

They made me happy and I would really love to share this beauty with you.
