Doll Quilt Swap Quilt GrowingWell, it grows in the getting more finished sense, not in size.

Getting the edges sewn together and the blocks ready, makes it all so clean and ordered. Looking forward to putting the whole top together this afternoon to enjoy an even cleaner look.

Spider web blocks were expected to accumulate lots of seam allowances bulk along the seams, so I am fixing this on the way.

Will see how much fixing will help me quilt it smoothly. Hopefully it will make quilting way easier.

Doll Quilt Swap 9 quiltJust a few days before the deadline… it is about to appear.

I do like how it is going now. By this time the top is almost finished.

I am using the the very first idea, the first colours I thought about… It is a little planned, a little impulsive and looks as expected.

I am not happy, I am almost late. I hope the quilt be loved though. Doll Quilt Swap emotions!

Doll Quilt Swap 9 quilt received! It is so fresh, it makes me smile!

Here it is in its cheerful glory! Showing it all as I promised.

Lovely prints, simplest design you could think of. But still with its special style. It is not simple squares, though the prints are gorgeous enough to make it this way juts a perfect quilt. The added cream corner adds something really special. And if you are not careful enough, you can miss the corner thing – it is so perfectly made.

Being in Bulgaria and being more conservative, that I would like to be with overseas fabric purchases… I am absolutely happy to have the designer mix in this quilt on my wall. This could not be more perfect! Each little square is gorgeous!

I loved the ducks, the moment I saw them, when they started popping on the blogs. The aqua flower is one of my faves, the apples are just gorgeous and I have just received a pincushion in another shade few weeks ago, the tweets.. I am still not sure what I love best of this collection..

Well, the rest is lovely too. The ones I mentioned are just the ones this some more personal story behind… And the Midwest /if I am not wrong with all the excitement… / have not noticed the yellow /I am more in orange/pink. green/brown there/ and it is lovely!

Did I mention how perfect the binding is?! I realize now I have no back picture… Will fix this tomorrow.

The quilt is on display now. The firs thing I see every morning heading to a big cup of tea. Thank you Linda!

Doll Quilt Swap 9 package receivedWhen I got a call yesterday, I had a package waiting for me in the post office, I though it will be a fabrics one.

Well, I found out today it was… but some of the fabrics were sewn into a lovely quilt, as I has received my Doll Quilt Swap package!

It was wrapped in the most beautiful blue paper, so Dutch in style you can not mistake where it was coming from.. and checked inside! in red and white!

The content itself was even more amazing, just as expected – a lovely modern quilt in great prints, lovely design and fantastic IKEA backing.

Doll Quilt Swap 9 package received openedI also received the cutest little chocolate. It did not make it to the picture but not because it was eaten…  I suppose it will never be… it just over the size of an SD card.. and I touched Japanese woven ribbons for the first time!

I have not taken picture of the quilt itself displayed yet, as I have something on the display spot now. Will take one tomorrow.

I will blog a little more about it then. It is a very, very, beautiful quilt! I am so happy to be its recipient.

Thank you, Linda!

I love every detail in it!

Little white dressThe place is occupied by a cute dress I made last week for a special lady.

Sorry for the blurred picture. It is partly due to insufficient light, partly due to me felling not just right to show it yet.

It is not exactly Doll Quilt Swap info you might think. Actually it is – this is the reason I was not piecing and quilting on my DQS quilt last week. Starting my quilt today!

spider web for doll quilt swap 9It started few weeks ago and looks like one of the most beautiful rounds… As always!

I was quite unsure what to make, choosing design, pattern, fabrics, quilting type… whether to make it by hand, or machine piece and quilt it… All of these decisions are interesting, but I tend to be slow here. Especially if it is a swap thing. If it was for me, I would just grab the fabrics and start…

So after a month or so of falling in love with an idea and than new ideas for something quite different… I decided to give a try to something, I wished for for quite a long time – spider web. Then I saw some webs in the pool… Any way I am finally going for a spider web – the original plan. First choices usually work. Will see how it will be now… Jumping in the Doll Quilt Swap making magic now!

Doll Quilt Swap 8 receivedI received it in time. It was long ago. I realize now I have not shown it yet….

It is a stunning design in interesting colours, plus black and white. Did you notice the muttered border and the quilting? On a Whim made a lovely quilt!

I am still not able to find a place for it, as I have no such a contrast corner, which is a pity as it is gorgeous design with cute little baskets in aqua and green… I have an idea where it might fit soon, but in the meantime is just adored as part of my precious Doll Quilt collection.

The back is black on white little dots and the quilting is just lovely!

dqs8 back

At first I liked the back better as I felt a little ovewhelmed by the black on the front and who can not love this quilting… The picture does not show its beauty properly…

Thinking about this now and looking at this picture I see negative space, and the baskets are somehow washed-out, which adds interest in a special way.

This made me think about the way I design my quilts and how different it is from this one. So many new thing to try…

I might make it a white twin some day…

Sunday Stash #29: New Treasures
It might be ridiculous for most people, but not for sewing/quilting ones – fabrics are liked, collected, hunted, longed for, happily received and reluctantly cut.. sometimes.

These are the newest additions to my stash. A beautiful surprise package – part of a fabric swap, I received from NotYetTheDodo. Thank you!

And these are just some of the beautiful fabrics I received. The rest is claimed for a special quilt and thus remain in a secret stash for now LOL

DQS8 - received in OzI received a lovely note from my partner, who likes my creation, today.

I can happily state now I am happy with half of the swap and anxiously waiting for the other half – a post delivery. LOL

I can now show what I have made.

I already wrote it was fun to make this little quilty and I  am waiting for some spare time to make more similar little ones.

This was my first quilt in this traditional pattern. Mixing classic patterns with modern fabrics is definitely my piece of quilting LOL. Love the mixing process!

Adding linen in this one was so beautiful detail too.
DQS8 by domoshar revealedIt was something from my partners’ likes and something I wanted to try for a long time. This is one of the best things in this lovely swap – trying new things!
