It was not a very hot summer and it is not over yet… but I feel as if it will end in an hour…
The beach is dabgerous with beautifully calm waters on the surface and strong current beneath. Too strong to swim. There are 4 weeks till the beginning of the school year and one till the time I have to sent my Doll Quil tSwap quilt. My studio is emerging slowly from repair, repainting, rearranging…etc mess… and I am dreaming of getting it all ready…
In the mean time I have to choose two tables, their position and.. here comes the hardest part – the tables height. I was measuring and walking around stores for a week now. Which means visiting a few stores in a day, just one day, and 2 hours, but I am not positive I will get luckier with rest… It seems I need a 100cm high table and found no 100cm higg shelves/cabinets or legs..
Yesterday, only a few hours after measuring my arms in various positions,,, I found the Uniform Studio new studio making story here. with great tips on setting the space.
It is a beautiful, functional and inspiring studio and a creative DIY project on a budget. Smart assembling, visual appeal… all looks fantastic and I would borrow some ideas… But despite I followed almost the same strategy – low budget, phased plan, priorities ranked in the very beginning, 2 work areas and storаgе, I am not able to make something similar. I feel uncomfortable placing my sewing table facing a wall. It is partly feng shui crazyness /wall in front and sitting with my back towards the door/, partly day light misuse problem /sitting with my back to the light, or in a dark corner…. Either way it is unlikely to do it. I love the central big table concept and it is really functional, but with a sewing table facing the room, not a wall.. it may end looking /and feeling!/ crowded…
How is yours sewing space? Do you have a central high table? How did you determined the height of your high work table?
I am searching for ideas and advice. Going to sleep now before another measurrng day maybe.
