Knitting for Christmas and finishing the second Christmas gift, I realized I have not showed my first shawl here. So here are some pictures of the shawl I knitted almost a year - knitted one skein end of winter 2009 and not able to find more yarn till November, than finished it in a few evenings. It is the first thing I ever blocked too! The two additional skeins are a little darker as eco wool - yes, it is pure wool -  varies a lot in colour and these were quite spaced in time... Recently I knitted a similar shawl for Mom.  And see more shawls to join them in the future too.  Knitting this one was so rewarding, that I started another similar one to0. Same yarn problem there - one skein was not enough, I found, and bought. However it is a summer one, so it will stay in an UFO form for while... Lots of new winter and spring things to knit before it. LOL When I was a student I used to find a nice dress pattern and make 3-4 dresses from different fabrics. I see this shawl turns a similar project - 3 shawl so far and maybe even more to come.  I never multiplied a style or design otherwise. I will show the other finished shawl - my Mom's present when I upload the pictures. It was a even faster knit as it is a smaller than this one. Not a surprise really. This shawl is for me and I use it for warming not styling LOL. Its longest side is over 170cm long. Which is a little over the standard shawl size. But it is just the right one for a soft, warm shawl.
