SSCS 2008: Hints for my partner
I am still waiting for my Doll Quilt Swap quilt, but it is time to think for the next swap.
This one is quite different and I have so little experience that I can easily get confused.
If you are in a similar position thinking what will be appropriate for me /if you are my partner I mean/, maybe I could help. I did not this for the DQS but will try now, hoping I would help.
I will appreciate anything that you made by hand, but please make sure it is not something designed to decorate a shelf, as it will accumulate dust which is something we do not tolerate here - I am too busy to take care for things like this and the decoration will end up stored in a cabinet /behind doors and out of sight/.
Quilts - doll sized, wall hangings, table runners, pillowcases, etc; hand bags, shopping bags, are all welcome. Also, I have no angel doll and would love one or something angel related.
As for the style and colours, I like fresh, vivid, pastel... well, I like any colours! and tend to omit black and gray in general, unless they enhance the other colours accompanying them. I love modern patterns and prints, japanese, floral and geometric or cute styles and find the good old romantic ones appealing too, and even country ones as long they are not too earthy. If this seems strange, you could have a look at my flickr favourites for a general idea.
If you would like to send something extra to go with the present, NO CHOCOLATE please. Feel free to add a fat quarter or two instead :). Fabric is the new chocolate, you know! You can always make me happy with one. And even happier with more, as it is addictive, but probably know it yourself.
Also make sure you check back here for a list of what local post does not allow in parcels. I will include a list soon.
Hope that helps.
Back to my own wonderring what to make for my partner... Quilt, bag, table cloth... Have not decided yet...
