Christmas Stockings

Media_httpdomosharcom_cjgda
Here is the original second batch for 2010 - semi-Christmas, semi-neon. Love the traditional-contemporary mix in them - linen and neons. Batch number one is all gone, so here is the second one. It also comes in appliqued, embroidered, drawn form. However I think this no accents version is my absolute fave so far. Nothing to remove, nothing in excess - so really close to perfection. The appliqued, etc. versions have no decent pictures yet. Coming soon here... Having promised to write about process - this is a fave process too - they look almost the same way inside out... Yay!

Happy December 1st!

Media_httpdomosharcom_ynucc
It is already December! All the Christmas preparations are getting really intensive. I still need to deal with the decoration, the flowers, the table, the cards, some  gifts, etc. The weather is getting really unpleasant these days here - gloomy and cold, but it really calls for a biiig cup of tea and some cookies - juts like Christmas. I am sewing for the holidays and packing orders otherwise.  More reds, white and greens on my table than usual - Christmas! Happy December 1st! PS Last day of the 15% discount sale in my shop with coupon code CYBERMONDAY15.

Last Quilt for 2009: Table Runner

Media_httpfarm5static_guidz
This is the last patchwork made in 2009. A custom order for a table runner. Love the colours on it. It is Christmas like, but too much Christams in there. It could a nice Valentine or just a stylish red and white table addition. I have made a few table runners with similar look - same pattern, different colours. This is the boldest. The contrast between red and and the whites is really strong and the red vivid. But the white/ecru combo softens it and adds style. The back is burgundy deep red with ecru quilting on it. More pictures on Flickr. A lot actually. I took 100+ pictures and changed most to "private" not to bother people on Flickr... The first time I do it. The table runner will be added to my etsy shop as another custom table runner tomorrow.

Preparing for Christmas...

Media_httpfarm4static_vgzsq
I had to admit that I have not sewn anything for this Christmas yet. I have tried some ideas, sketched and tested... but I have nothing ready yet... Despite of starting making patterns in August...Yes, this picture of craft paper patterns in my kitchen was taken in August and I have only cut a few fabric pieces so far... Today my studio received a new table. Not the one I wanted, but an old trusty stable table I like and I am planning some sewing pretty soon. With these same August patterns of course! Wish me good luck. The flu school vacation was prolonged with one more week - the next one. Hopefully I will be sewing regularly despite of it. I am happy it took place actually, as it really helps keep children healthy and as the sun is shining, we have walks and play.. it is all okay..

Time for Gifts! Christmas is so close!

Media_httpfarm4static_gzbkd
It is a warm sunny day today. Unlike the cold ones earlier this week. But Christmas is closer every day and I really love this. Time to make some gifts and really feel the Holiday season. It started here actually. And I am happy it did! Need to make some extra packaging aids next week. I love the look of crisp paper and fresh labels. I have no woven ones to attach to my creations, so printed ones are my labeling eye candy LOL

It was not an easy decision what to send to someone I do not know. I read and kept reading the blog. Still I did not find too many clues... So I choose something useful, something red for Christmas, something blue to make it appropriate for every season, something Bulgarian and something crafty to play with. Seemed like a good present recipe... Karen likes it, so it was! Thank you Chookyblue! I would not experience the magic to be a Santa Clause assistant without you! Merry Christmas!

Boutique Update: Kitchen Accsessories

Media_httpdomosharcom_oehte
I love all the little details that make Christmas and December special. Spices, orange, apple and cinnamon scents, a fruit cake in the oven, red bows and candles, little red  details sparkling almost everywhere, these some of the things that create the Christmas magic. This is the first Christmas of my online boutique, and its preparation was a bit delayed by some November issues. But I have some holiday-spirited items in it now. And they are made of fabric! Coasters in red ,red+blue and blue, and oven mitts in red & blue. I do like the paper angels and the other cards that will make it to the shop soon, but nice oven mitts in red make head to the kitchen and bake a cake just because /though I bake only bread regularly for now/. So I am happy I added them to the shop. PS: A bunch of these will go to the people I love, wrapped for Christmas. I hope they do not read the English posts here! I actually started sewing these as gifts and them made some more for the boutique.

Boutique Update: Angel Christmas Cards

Media_httpdomosharcom_swwjn
You might remember my little give away. It was all made in attempt to bring the holiday season closer. As it is officially holiday preparation time now, I started stocking my little boutique with Christmas items. These lovely little angels made it to the online shop a couple of weeks ago. They are double folded iris paper folding cards. All hand made by me and accompanied by ecru envelopes /also hand made by me/. I will soon add some new designs but this one is one of my favorite so it is the first one to shown in the cards section of the shop. I am now adding some little fabric/quilted gifts too.
