Coasters are one of my favorite little fabric creations - they are little, cheerful, versatile and warm. I love the modern look, the handmade spirit and the coziness they incorporate. To celebrate the white Saturday, and the official start of the holiday season, I decided to offer 15% discount on all coasters on my etsy shop. It will not last long, so have a look and see if you can see one fitting into your gift lists. No discount codes, or refund needed, the discount percent is already taken off the sale prices on etsy. Happy holiday season! Come back here  every now and then to see latest news and make sure you join us on Facebook for latest news and future discounts too.

New Owl - Flower Eyes!

Media_httpdomosharcom_zdhin
Here is the newest owl I added to the shop yesterday. It is as small and cute as the rest of the lovely little owls I make. However this one is really special and has a special spell - flower eyes. Yay! Love the green-orange-blue combo. And the pink accent makes the vibrant combo sing I think - cheerful, bold and almost crazy combo. Just my colour taste! Some like it hot. Some like it cheerful! LOL Hope you like it! More owls to be added to the shop shortly. This one is available for sale here. Be sure to check every couple of days if you like these.

Sunny Day! Forgoten Quilt! New Shop!

Media_httpdomosharcom_ckfus
Hello again! The 24+ hours rain is over... people say it is not for long...  but still the sunny day feels great! Green grass, golden trees, blue sky with little white clouds, breeze, soft warm light.... and warm weather... a dream! And it started as a dense fog morning... and the next rain is some 300-400km away... I am still working on Christmas preparation and custom orders and just popping here to add some pictures of a spring quilt I forgot to post this spring. It is a big, soft, cheerful one and has the energy of today's sun - bright but soft, energizing but not hot. Stumbled upon it looking for a picture today and feels just like this day.

Another thing I forgot to shout here is... Ta-da! ... the studio has a new little shop, you can visit right now! I am so excited with this project and the little time I had to open on 10.10.2010 - see the auspicious aspect! It explains the mini format of the shop for now... I will blog about this later again - I think it is a big step and the excitement is constant for now LOL I am now working on adding new pictures and new items and fresh feedback on how it looks/feels is always welcome. Always looking for some critiques and side views. A few lovely friends gave me some precious feedback and ideas I am working on now. Thank you, dear!

Finished Project and Shop Update

Media_httpdomosharcom_dggff
I am happy with this week project. Unlike  the usual style of moderate progress on several projects, I picked a brand new small one to finish this week. It is ready, colourful and in the shop now. The little pile of tissue holders and business/credit card holders, was unexpectedly joined by some cute little purses. The tissue holders and the card holders are in  the shop already. Tomorrow the tissue & card folders duo sets will join them. Stay tuned as the little purses will be free gifts with each set purchase.

The New Project: Part Two

Media_httpdomosharcom_catqx
Here comes the second post with some process thoughts. This is a small project. It was planned to me functional, colourful and all completed in a week so that it could be manageable and make a shop update in a few days. I am making small things, thus using small fabric pieces - it does look like a patchwork, which I love. I was going for this look and I think it is archived so far. The fabric choices, as always, were fun. I started with one fabric for each colourway /what a fancy name for it!/ and then added 3 more. As it started to appear in its designed look I added a few other fabrics to spice it up a little. Making a few things at a time has many advantages and a substancial drawback - changing threads... I love turning any drawback into opportunity, so I went for a vivid, bold thread to wrap them all - fuchsia. Not too bad!

Pincushion Love!

Media_httpdomosharcom_owfoy
New pincushion in Origami Box in the shop. It is part of the latest spring batch of pincushions. Love the orange-pink combo! Have you noticed how bigger it is next to the flower pincushions? It does have presence of its own! Pincushions make me happy. This might be the reason I always use few simultaneously - one for pins, one for needles, one by the machine, one next to my hand sewing project... plenty of them around... And I never pin anything to the ones I have made for sale! It is not easy, I know...

Pincushions for Spring!

Media_httpdomosharcom_fchfi
New pincushions. Part of the Softies Invasion group. Making them is great fun, taking pictures is an added bonus - so cheerful together! Making some new plans for them, I am not quite sure about yet... Love the way they look together! Planning some new pictures too - it is great fun. I made this in not really good light.... So here they are anyway - ordered, mixed, random.  With a giant Perle cotton ball, with the origami box I sent them in... just impulsive pictures made a few minutes after completing them and testing if the bigger ones still fit in the standard box I use.

Softies Invasion in my Studio!

Media_httpdomosharcom_hexxk
Spring sewing with bright colours, soft fabrics, shiny buttons, Perle cotton in vivid tones, soft, soft creations in the bright sun... Lovely! I finished some little beauties for a new shop update. I started most of them few days or weeks ago. Finished them today and by "some" I mean a couple of dozens or so. Feels good to see the colourful pile! Usually make pincushions one by one. Did the same with these ones actually, but finished them together. Love the soft look they all have side by side in a big pile. And each one is bright at the same time. I do not think the owls are pincushions, but I like the way they look by the flower pincushions. I know some people use them as pincushions, I just can not put a needle on one... All of these will be part of the next shop update! What are you making these days?

Spring in the Shop: Quilted Fabric Bread Basket

Media_httpdomosharcom_csaay
Spring crafting in the studio just a week before the beginning of spring, resulted in this little pile of bread baskets. I planned to make more and earlier to add in the shop way before Easter. Well, they are more spring, than Easter items, now. I love the brights ans pastels mixed together in a simple functional table accessory. Making more than one thing at a time makes creating even more rewarding. A pile of newly finished projects, even if it a mini pile of three, feels good. Palm Sunday is coming and I am busy with some preparation for it.

Etsy Front Page!

Media_httpdomosharcom_fbqdr
Started another hectic and sort of twisted day - forgot something and had to drive back... Then I had a cup of tea with the computer and found an item of mine in the Etsy Front Page archive. Yay! It is my second time on etsy's front page! The first time was a year and a few days ago. Unlike the first time, I did not see the actual front page, just the archive. Do we call this bad luck or experience? Last year I opened etsy home page and jumped with joy. This year I got a lovely convo a minute before my routine "featured?" check... Thank you Kimbukty! The pincushion is part of my Euro Week special offer: All flower pincushions in my shop are now $8.80. The original price is 11.80.
