Moving, Sewing, Winning…

I am moving my studio. It is a complex process, that started with some repairs. I spent lots of time preparing, arranging, painting… Tones of time actually. And today I sew in the new studio for the first time. Half of my fabrics are still in bags, waiting for me to paint their new home. Most of the things have no place yet. Still it was nice to sew again.

I promised to show what I will sent and I do sorry for this. I had to change my plans for the day and was not able to make a decent picture.

So… I am showing some of my stash. You can get a general idea but it will be a surprise. I am moving my studio now so selecting and documenting fabrics in a single day is a difficult task to do these days.

I will be sending fat quarters. A selection of several different fabrics so you can get variety. Feel free to comment here or the previous post. Commenting two or three times will still give you one entry to the draw.

I am impressed! So many responses to my giveaway… Thank you!!! It is not the fanciest you could think of – no designer fabrics or liberties… because I do not have any like these. I am happy you like my stash. And thank you for sharing something about you and your creations! Each of the comments is inspiring in a way.

I saw a couple of comments from people not sure whether it is still open. ~~Yes, it is and I will close the comments section in a aprox. 2 3/4hours, so go and comment if you want these fabrics.~~ You can not enter it now, but you can write something about you or your crafting, in case you forgot to do so when you commented on the giveaway post. I will choose one person at random and announce the winner on Friday.

This giveaway is so much fun, I am happy I will have another one next week and you can visit the other participants as some of the giveaways are still active now.

The One Year Blogging Giveaway Revealed :)

Here is a glimpse of the pile. It is not a huge one and buttons to be included will be surprise, but it will be nicely wrapped and you will get 4 coasters, 3 fat quarters and a lovely lets say fat eight piece, plus the secret buttons.

All fabrics are new and pre-washed /I am not used to storing anything before pre-washing/, all 100% fine Bulgaria cotton, in three prints – flowers, paisley and stripes. I think pieces are slightly over the fat quarter size. They are all cut by me and my scissors so might be a little bit wonky.

Coasters are made by me. Finished today! They are so simple, but I hope you will like the splash of colour they add to your favorite cup of tea/coffee. Backed with bright aqua.

More pictures to be published later as I am in a hurry now.

To enter the giveaway please tell me: How do you decide your stash is enough /no matter if it is yarn, fabric, trims, etc./? Is there something like sufficient stash, actually?

One Year Blogging!

I started this blog on Feb 5th 2008. I was used to reading blogs but have no idea how to organize and maintain mine and it was a very difficult moment for me and my creations even without this new adventure…

I started a wordpress.com blog, and after a few months incorporated it into my own site, I spent some time learning the essentials of blog maintenance and upgrading… It was a long journey on all the technical aspects. But I love and enjoy the creative and social aspects of blogging so much! Thank you for visiting me here, for the comments you have left here and for the inspiration I found on your blogs!

I met great people, talented quilters, great mothers and creative women, joined my first swap /followed but more swaps /, organized my first giveaway for my 100th post… joined the first International Stash Busting Giveaway Katy came up with /yes, I think it is one of many/… I opened my online boutique in February 2008 too and I registered an Etsy shop /May 2008/ and I am about to open it pretty soon /it is high time!/… we started a crafting social community online portal a couple of months ago /Dec. 2008/…. Reached 200 posts /2009/….we are about to launch sales on the portal…

Isn’t it great for a year!? It is time to celebrate! And I will. And will organize a giveaway next week. I have to come up with an idea what to offer first and send the fabrics for the The Great giveaway so stay tuned.

My giveaway is almost done I just have to send the cards.
I learned a lot. It is fun. It takes time. It allows one to find new blogs. It gives a flow of positive energy. It also makes you try and give something to the kind people who took the time to visit you virtually.

First Giveaway Recap and The Winner

The period for my giveaway is over, so I numbered all the comment and entries for the drawing.

27 nice persons wrote something nice to me to make 31 entries in the drawing. Thank you! I spent great time visiting your blogs and reading part of your previous posts. I read 100+ blogs /when I have the time/, so adding new blogs to my daily reads was quite time consuming, but it was so interesting… I wish I could send a card to each of you. But hopefully I will organize new giveaway soon.

Thank you all for the kind words and comments! I was really in need for some advice regarding the two languages here. I will keep it this way. Usually I do not blog exactly the same content on both languages, so both languages in a post is not my thing for now. Thank you Chookyblue for suggesting it! Thank you for inviting so many people here too!!!

I keep a feng shui and patchwork essentials posts in Bulgarian, and swap posts in English. These things are not being translated to the other language.

We have e proverb here: “The last ones will be first”. It happened this way – the last comment /though not the last entry/ won.

It is a strange proverb you may think, but think of all the technology and knowledge related upgrades, the less equipped get the best equipment as soon they get new one. If you knew nothing you I would learn straight from the top achievements /unlike the ones that explored the same topic 20 years earlier/. In the begging of the 20th century the newly independent Bulgaria was a rural country and a poor one. In 30 years it made up for both. Then other things happened… I have to write something about my country and my city soon I think…

#100 Post Giveaway: The Cards

I can finally show you the cards, that will be send to one of the nice and kind visitors of my blog. They will have handmade envelopes in pale pink or ecru, depending what the recipient will prefer. Each card will be packed in a sealed plastic bag together with its envelop.

When I wrote that if there is only one commenter, he/she will get the cards… well, I really meant it – I was not sure I would have more than one comment. Although I am a positive person, I did not expect so many and warm comments. Thank you!!!

I promised to show you the cards in a couple of days after announcing the giveaway… It happened to be almost a week later, so I will extend the giveaway period for few more days – the lucky person will be announced here on October 20th, and the give away post and this post will be open for comments until October 19th, 19pm GMT.
