Pincushion Love

Media_httpdomosharcom_xotpa
I am so happy, I can now call a fabulous event done and this pincushion public. It was an adventure to make it go to the other side of the Atlantic, but it is now done. Yay! Тwo attempts and a month the second time, but all done! I was longing to make a big one for this special lovely event and I new it will be somehow appreciated, that the scale does matter with all the pins we all keep around the machine... Its diameter is approximately 20 cm /8 "/ and yes, this is correct and big! I think I will make some more big, pin cushions for me and for presents pretty soon - maybe January LOL.

Scrappy Pincushion Swap Reveal

I tried to write something but it really did not feel right to steal even a single bit of the attention the pincushions, I received deserved... So here it is. Started from a sketch - lots of options, one pincushion to make... decided something special about it and had to choose one design... So after leaving it for a week or a few weeks to settle - I chose and started. It all happened pretty quickly and I had an almost ready pincushion before I was sure it is the right design... Took a picture or two... and I think it is the right design... So much my style - kind of signature pincushion. And my partner has almost my style... Will see how it will be accepted... Sewing more pincushions in the meantime...

Pincushion Love!

Media_httpdomosharcom_owfoy
New pincushion in Origami Box in the shop. It is part of the latest spring batch of pincushions. Love the orange-pink combo! Have you noticed how bigger it is next to the flower pincushions? It does have presence of its own! Pincushions make me happy. This might be the reason I always use few simultaneously - one for pins, one for needles, one by the machine, one next to my hand sewing project... plenty of them around... And I never pin anything to the ones I have made for sale! It is not easy, I know...

Softies Invasion in my Studio!

Spring sewing with bright colours, soft fabrics, shiny buttons, Perle cotton in vivid tones, soft, soft creations in the bright sun... Lovely! I finished some little beauties for a new shop update. I started most of them few days or weeks ago. Finished them today and by "some" I mean a couple of dozens or so. Feels good to see the colourful pile! Usually make pincushions one by one. Did the same with these ones actually, but finished them together. Love the soft look they all have side by side in a big pile. And each one is bright at the same time. I do not think the owls are pincushions, but I like the way they look by the flower pincushions. I know some people use them as pincushions, I just can not put a needle on one... All of these will be part of the next shop update! What are you making these days?

New in the shop: Quilted Pincushions

Media_httpdomosharcom_ehdzc
These lovely little pincushions were added to my etsy shop yesterday. They have a long history. They started as a patchwork experiment almost 10 years ago. At this time the fabric was old enough for them to qualify for being made with vintage fabric now. These little patchwork pieces were carefully stored until earlier this week. When I finally sewed into something and they are now pincushions. All finished, all little threads were clipped and they are waiting for their new owner. I was not sure if adding them to the shop was the right decision or it was better to keep them. With so many pincushion I am using, I decided to add them to the shop.
