Here comes the second post with some process thoughts.
This is a small project. It was planned to me functional, colourful and all completed in a week so that it could be manageable and make a shop update in a few days.
I am making small things, thus using small fabric pieces – it does look like a patchwork, which I love. I was going for this look and I think it is archived so far. The fabric choices, as always, were fun. I started with one fabric for each colourway /what a fancy name for it!/ and then added 3 more. As it started to appear in its designed look I added a few other fabrics to spice it up a little.
Making a few things at a time has many advantages and a substancial drawback – changing threads… I love turning any drawback into opportunity, so I went for a vivid, bold thread to wrap them all – fuchsia. Not too bad!
