Finished Project and Shop Update

I am happy with this week project. Unlike  the usual style of moderate progress on several projects, I picked a brand new small one to finish this week. It is ready, colourful and in the shop now. The little pile of tissue holders and business/credit card holders, was unexpectedly joined by some cute little purses. The tissue holders and the card holders are in  the shop already. Tomorrow the tissue & card folders duo sets will join them. Stay tuned as the little purses will be free gifts with each set purchase.

The New Project: Part Two

Media_httpdomosharcom_catqx
Here comes the second post with some process thoughts. This is a small project. It was planned to me functional, colourful and all completed in a week so that it could be manageable and make a shop update in a few days. I am making small things, thus using small fabric pieces - it does look like a patchwork, which I love. I was going for this look and I think it is archived so far. The fabric choices, as always, were fun. I started with one fabric for each colourway /what a fancy name for it!/ and then added 3 more. As it started to appear in its designed look I added a few other fabrics to spice it up a little. Making a few things at a time has many advantages and a substancial drawback - changing threads... I love turning any drawback into opportunity, so I went for a vivid, bold thread to wrap them all - fuchsia. Not too bad!

New Week - New Project

Media_httpdomosharcom_mapfu
It is small and colourful, it is easy and whipping it up felt sooo good today. The perfect beginning of a new week! I had fun choosing the colours, the solids - prints balance, grouping the fabrics chosen... It then happened. I am happy I managed to sew as much as I had planned for this sewing session. This is not a patchwork project but it is a project and I had to think about the goal, the fabrics and the realization... I noticed I am so used to thinking patchwork-like that I immediately saw a future patchwork quilt in these fabrics and combos... The plan is, this will be ready and than shown here this week. I will than write more about the process. Happy New week!
