Newest Yarn!!!

Media_httpdomosharcom_ahjap
I have been an active knitter for a year. And by "active" I mean almost 20 projects knitted  - all small and fast but still 20, so I am officially knitting. LOL! I started with worsted yarn, and though I will never move to cobweb... so impractical and so slow... You know - never say "never"! I got my first lace weight yarn last week. It is Angel Lace one ply alpaca-cashmere-silk blend and is so thin - 1200m in 100g. I must be crazy... But I am happy! This yarn is one of the The Natural Dye Studio creations. Lovely yarn! It is not wisteria colourway. Stardust! How lovely this name is!

The Christmas Shawl

Media_httpfarm3static_jpfmo
Here is the Christmas shawl. Before blocking. But you will get a good idea of how it looks. Yes, it is better after blocking and it would be good to have some after blocking pictures... but I did not take any apart from the folded one here. The weight is the thing I really love on this one  - it is approx. 50g. And it is warm too. Knitting it was meditative activity - fast, easy to memorize, soft and great colour. This is the fisrt really lacy shawl I made. It was soft and shapeless I was not sure it will block well, but it did block just perfect. More pictures on Flickr. I am planning new projects with this yarn. Have not chosen the colour yet...

Knitting for Christmas

Media_httpfarm5static_eqhse
I knitted this a few days before Christmas. Just enough before, to be able to finish, block, pack and give in time. It was a nice fast and soft knit - simple pattern, elegant look, deep colour! It is so light and soft that I am seriously considering making at least three different ones for myself... Dreaming so far. I have lost of other things to do first LOL My mom is happy with this one. So am I. The first thing I knitted for her! It was surprise. She likes the colour and the style. So I have no choice but be happy with it. More pictures to be added soon.
