August Crafts

It is hot summer here. We are not visiting the beach these days - visiting my studio instead. Almost no sewing has taken place though. I made a purse organizer for myself. Almost 3 years after placing the note in my to do journal... Happy I did it. In the meantime between beach and studio transition I finished the big leaves lace shawl and it only needs some blocking now. It is huge! Not to sure if it is too big, or just perfect... And it is very heavy too - almost 300g.  The pink shawl, that was waiting for less than 10 additional meters of yarn is back on the needles now and I am continuing the bind off. It is slow binding as all the stitches are on a yarn and I need to transfer them on the needle first /which I do in groups of 8-12 stitches, bind them off and transfer the next group.../ My latest project is moving slowly /pictured here/... as I decided to finish all my UFOs using any spare minute. So I washed my machine embroidery potholders today! Another year of waiting here /between attaching the binding and the final binding stitch today/. I am drawing and sketching doll quilt ideas now, not able to choose one of the 3 ideas I like best so far...

Custom Baby Quilt

I do enjoy making baby quilts. Especially if it is a newborn baby gift. This is the latest one - made for a small boy. It was an custom quilt for a lady that found my web site and needed a quick and touching baby gift. I had a week to complete it and send it to her. It was quite a pressure along the other projects, but it was a baby quilt so it was also great pleasure for me to make it, pack it and send it.
